CVP Presents “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald, adapted by Simon Levy. Presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service. In the summer of 1922, Nick Carraway rents a small house on Long Island in the fictional village of West Egg, next door to the lavish mansion of Jay Gatsby, a mysterious multi- millionaire. Nick’s cousin, Daisy Fay Buchanan, and her husband, Tom, live across the bay from Gatsby. Tom has a mistress, Myrtle Wilson, who lives in the “valley of ashes,” an industrial dumping ground between West Egg and New York City. Nick eventually receives an invitation to one of Gatsby’s parties and he meets Gatsby himself who recognizes Nick because they served in the same division in the Great War. Nick learns that Gatsby knows Daisy through a purely chance meeting in 1917. From their brief meeting, Gatsby fell deeply in love with Daisy, a love that continues to the present day. A show full of intrigue, deception, and illicit romance. 2019 Performances: November 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 21, 22, 23 To reserve tickets, call 248-425-5842 or email with date, time and your contact info.
